Earlier today while twittering around peoples pages I clicked on Bill Gates profile and began following his page. Soon after I found myself skimming through new tweets that didn't jump off the page, and ventured into the suggested users and found itunes movie preview. Intrigued by the possibility of tweets chocked full of movie releases popping up on my page, I clicked to follow that profile as well and thought to myself hooray i'm following 30 people and the grid is now full!
Shortly after that, realizing that I just clicked to follow Bill Gates, this seemed like a conflict of interest. Side by side in my perfect square of 30 profiles Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Apple's itunes movie preview. People may think wow man, pick a side. Microsoft or Apple. You can't have it both ways. Or can I?
The problem is both make fine products I use everyday. Bill is no longer with Microsoft, he is busy with his foundation moving on to bigger and better helping the world with his vast knowledge, and itunes makes my life easier with the ability to download movies and music to my PC so I can immerse myself into sound and vision in a matter of moments for a small fee.
I don't want to pick just another profile to give me symmetry on my page. I want to see tweets about new releases on the itunes store pop up on my page, so I know when new movies are available for download. Movies that I've been dying to see from the comfort of my couch. What to do, what to do? Un-follow Bill? No can't do that either he gave me Windows and Office and without that I truly would be lost.
I need to listen to Natalie Imbruglia's Left of the middle and contemplate what I should do.
